Perform the following tasks to configure event notifications. Refer to the
configuration examples, below:

ospf-virt-nbr-state Signifies a change in the state of an
OSPF neighbor on a virtual interface.
To send this notification type, note
that you also have to enable sending
of OSPF virtual neighbor state traps
using the report command.
Modem deregistration event: A modem deregistration event refers
to the deregistration of cable
modems.
■
dereg-modems Signifies that a number or percentage
of modems have deregistered over the
deregistration time interval.
Tasks Commands
1. Enter configuration mode. root
2. Create an SNMP host to receive
trap messages.

3. Specify the UDP port number on
which the SNMP host will receive
traps.

message that the SNMP engine
