DPM information—Front End HBA tab
The Front End HBA tab displays the host HBAs that are connected to the selected DPM. HBAs installed
on hosts are connected to the front-end ports of the DPM and are reported to the VSM server by the
fabric agent on the DPM.

Description
Property
The row number.
No
The WWPN of the host HBA, as detected by the DPM and reported to VSM by
the fabric agent.
The icon next to the name reflects the status of the HBA and the number of access
paths through which the VSM server recognizes the HBA. Multiple access paths
are recognized when multiple DPMs report the same HBA to the VSM server, or
when a DPM reports the HBA as being recognized through multiple front-end ports.
Possible values are:
•
—The HBA is recognized through a single access path and the HBA’s status
is Present.
•
—The HBA is recognized through a single access path and the HBA’s status
is Absent.
•
—The HBA is recognized through a single access path and the HBA’s status
is Failed.
•
—The HBA is recognized through multiple access paths and the HBA’s status
is Present.
•
—The HBA is recognized through multiple access paths and the HBA’s status
is Absent.
•
—The HBA is recognized through multiple access paths and the HBA’s status
is Failed.
Name
The status of the front-end HBA. Possible values:
•
Present—The DPM reports to the VSM server that it detects the HBA on the
fabric.
•
Absent—The DPM reports to the VSM server that the HBA that was previously
detected is currently not recognized. This could be due to the zoning configur-
ation, the absence of a cable, the absence of the HBA, or host power down.
Status
The vendor of the HBA, if recognized. Otherwise, unknown.
Vendor
The name of the host on which the HBA is installed.
Group Name
A free text display field. To modify the text displayed, right-click the HBA and select
Manage > Edit comment.
