In the navigation tree, expand the Entities node.

Click the Data Path Module node. The DPMs list appears in the list area. The following properties
are displayed for each DPM.

Description
Property
The row number.
No
The name of the DPM. The icon next to the name indicates the status.

—Present status.
•
—Failed status.
•
—Degraded status.
•
—Absent status.
Name
The current status of the DPM. Possible values:
•
Present—The fabric agent is polling to the VSM server through all back-end
HBAs, as expected. The VSM server and the fabric agent are communicating
properly.
•
Degraded—The fabric agent is no longer polling the VSM server through all
back-end HBAs. There is at least one back-end HBA through which the VSM
server and the DPM are communicating properly.
•
Failed—Polling of the fabric agent to the VSM server has stopped. The VSM
server and the DPM are not communicating.
•
Absent—The DPM is no longer visible on the fabric.
Status
The operating system type that the fabric agent registers with the VSM server. The
value is “Data Path Module” for all Data Path Modules.
OS Type
The value that the DPM reports to VSM when it registers as part of the DPM group
creation. This value is 16 bytes, the first eight bytes consisting of the DPM WWNN,
and the last eight bytes consisting of zeroes.
DPM Group ID
The DPM group of which the DPM is a member.
DPM Group
Whether the DPM is the primary or secondary DPM in its DPM group. If the DPM
does not report a rank, this value is Unknown.
DPM Rank
The version of the software that runs on the Data Path Module. Related to the ver-
sion of fabric agent that is integrated with the manufacturer’s code.
Data Path Module Version
The version of the fabric agent.
FA Version
This property relates to synchronous mirroring.
Domain Relation
The management IP address of the DPM. The fabric agent reports this information
to the VSM server when it registers with the VSM server.
IP Address
The serial number of the DPM.
Serial Number
The number of virtual disks currently active on the DPM.
Active Virtual Disks
A free text field. To enter text into this field, right-click the DPM row in the List area
and select Manage > Edit Comment.
Comment
The time at which the VSM server first detected the DPM on the SAN.
