Keep the following in mind when working with the configuration in

The Business Copy Z S-VOL and the Continuous Access Synchronous Z, TrueCopy Asynchronous
for Mainframe, orContinuous Access Journal Z P-VOL cannot both be in the DUPLEX status
simultaneously.
•
When creating a Continuous Access Synchronous Z, TrueCopy Asynchronous for Mainframe,
or Continuous Access Journal Z copy pair, create a Business Copy Z copy pair first and put
it in suspended status.
•
When resynchronizing the Business Copy Z pair, first change the Continuous Access
Synchronous Z, TrueCopy Asynchronous for Mainframe, or Continuous Access Journal Z pair
to the suspend status.
•
If the Business Copy Z pair is in the SUSPVS status, you cannot perform any operations on
the Continuous Access Synchronous Z, TrueCopy Asynchronous for Mainframe, or Continuous
Access Journal Z pair.

Configuration for copy groups used by Business Continuity Manager
There are some restrictions concerning copy pair creation. The following sections present the
configurations for which copy pair creation is allowed and those for which it is not allowed.
Configuration patterns that allow pair creation
Copy pair creation is allowed in the following cases:
•
When a copy group includes only one consistency group (Business Copy Z/Continuous Access
Synchronous Z/TrueCopy Asynchronous for Mainframe/Continuous Access Journal Z)
•
When copy types are identical within a copy group container (Business Copy Z/Continuous
Access Synchronous Z/TrueCopy Asynchronous for Mainframe/Continuous Access Journal
Z)
•
When there is a Continuous Access Journal Z copy group container with an EXCTG ID
(Continuous Access Journal Z)
