Copy Pair Operations for BC Z
If unsynchronized data exists in the P-VOL and S-VOL (copy wait status) when you execute the
YKDELETE
command in the DUPLEX status, the copy pair is dissolved before the data is reflected
in the copy destination volume. For this reason, if you want to guarantee the data contents of the
copy destination volume, execute the YKSUSPND command to place the volume into the SUSPOP
status and then execute the YKDELETE command.
Copy Pair Operations for Cnt Ac-S Z
If a copy group is configured so that storage systems will be frozen and put into the SCP status at
the time of a failure suspension (Y is specified for FREEZE SCP in the Copy Group Attributes panel)
and the copy group has entered the failure suspension status, execute the YKRUN command to
cancel the SCP status. If you do not cancel the SCP status, update I/Os from the host will be held
for a long time.
NOTE:
You cannot change the time for holding update I/Os by using SCP Delay Time in Remote
Web Console.
Copy Pair Operations for Cnt Ac-J Z
If you issue the YKSUSPND command to reverse the copy direction while the volume status is
changing from SIMPLEX to DUPLEX via the YKMAKE command, the copy pair will immediately be
suspended. If this occurs, the copy operation that changes the volume status to DUPLEX has not
been completed. Consequently, the original contents of the P-VOL will be lost after you issue the
YKRESYNC
command, which reverses the copy direction. Be careful when using this command.
Messages Output from Business Continuity Manager
There are the following eight types of output destinations for Business Continuity Manager messages:
•
Message structures (REXX variables)
Messages output to message structures can be referenced from within a script. Because a
copy group contains multiple volumes, the script must exercise control while taking into
consideration that multiple messages exist.
•
TSO/E panel
Messages are displayed in the TSO/E panel when the MSG parameter specified in a CLI
command is invalid or when a REXX variable access error occurs.
In addition, when the EXEC command is used to execute a script from an interactive environment
such as the READY prompt, these messages will be displayed in the TSO/E panel.
•
Console
You can use the console log to check whether a failure occurred.
