local site toward the remote site during failback). Then wait until the copy pairs change to the
HOLD status.
Managing the HOLDER Status
If the pair status changes to HOLDER before execution of the command YKRESYNC DELTAJNL
When there is a copy pair in HOLDER status before performing delta resync, if the differential
update between the local site and the remote site cannot be kept in journal because of a storage
system failure, a delta resync cannot be performed. In this case, perform the following actions to
recover the copy pair to HOLD status.
1.
Eliminate the cause of the storage system error.
2.
Execute the YKRESYNC PREPARE command for the delta resync pair.
•
YKQUERY
•
YKRESYNC PREPARE
•
YKEWAIT GOTO(HOLD) NOINVALIDCHECK
If the command is successful, the delta resync pair between the local and remote sites first
changes to the HOLDTRNS status, and then the HOLD status. After changing to the HOLD status,
the copy pair is ready for delta resync.
If the pair stays in the HOLDTRNS status and does not change to the HOLD status, execute the
procedure in
“Managing the HOLDTRNS Status” (page 429)
and
Change to HOLD Status” (page 430)
.
If the pair status changes to HOLDER after execution of the command YKRESYNC DELTAJNL
If there is a copy pair in the HOLDER status after performing delta resync, delta resync could not
be performed because of a failure in the storage system, environment, or operation. In this case,
recover the pairs in the HOLDER status to the HOLD status, and then retry the delta resync.
