E2. Adding and Replacing a Device
This section describes how to add a component for the extension of the wireless system and
replace a defective device.
E2.1 Field Wireless Device
To add a new field wireless device to the wireless network, perform the same procedure as for
configuring a field wireless system explained in Chapter D3 Constructing a Field Wireless Sys-
tem.
1. In FieldMate, configure parameters for the provisioning (necessary) and sensor module of
the field wireless device (recommended).
2. Install the field wireless device at the site.
3. Register the device in the configuration data of the Configurator based on provisioning
information. Configure the interval of publish data to be sent to a host system, and place the
device in the Modbus register. After registering the required items in the configuration data,
download the configuration data in YFGW410 or target device.
4. On the Monitor, check that the added or replaced device is connected to the network and
that all the detailed information such as the communication quality is normal.
When replacing a device that is judged to be defective by the host system warning function or the
Monitor analysis result, perform the same procedure as for adding a new device.
Execute provisioning with the same device tag name as for the defective device. To configure
the same parameters as for the previous device in the sensor module, configure settings via
an infrared adapter using FieldMate before installing the device at the site. Settings can also be
configured using FieldMate or PRM after a wireless communication was established by installing
the device at the site; however, a long period of time is required to configure settings via a wire-
less communication.
When a defective device is replaced with the same model (with the same CF file), the role of the
device to be configured with the Configurator, communication path, publication setting such as
the publication interval, and information for placing published data in the Modbus register are
inherited to a new device.
