3.2 Executing the Diagnostic Test

Toshiba MS-DOS is required to run the DIAGNOSTICS TEST PROGRAM. To start the
DIAGNOSTIC TEST PROGRAM, follow these steps:

1. Insert the Diagnostics disk in the floppy disk drive and turn on the computer while

pressing U.

(The Diagnostics Disk contains the MS-DOS boot files.)

NOTE: To execute the CD-ROM or DVD-ROM test, make sure the CD-ROM and CD-
ROM drive or DVD-ROM and DVD-ROM drive is installed in the computer.

The following menu will appear:

Version X.XX (C) Copyright TOSHIBA Corp. XXXX

DIAGNOSTICS MENU :

1 - DIAGNOSTIC TEST
2 -
3 -
4 - HEAD CLEANING
5 - LOG UTILITIES
6 - RUNNNING TEST
7 - FDD UTILITIES
8 - SYSTEM CONFIGURATION
9 - EXIT TO MS-DOS
0 - SETUP

: Select items

Enter: Specify
Esc : Exit

NOTE: To exit the DIAGNOSTIC TEST MENU, press Esc. If a test program is in
progress, press Ctrl + Break to exit the test program, or press Ctrl + C to stop the test
program.
