Configuring Client Site Preferences
Internet Assigned Numbers Authority (IANA), the central coordinator for the assignment of
unique parameter values for Internet protocols, does not provide sufficient geographic separa-
tion of client proximity information. As a result, large ISP partners cannot use their own geo-
graphic data to determine GSLB site selection based on client location. However, using static
“client-to-site” mapping in Web OS software, you can configure client proximity tables to select
GSLB sites based on client location.
The use of a static client/site database allows you to customize the client environment. The
proximity database is limited to 128 entries. The GSLB client proximity table is supported for
HTTP protocol.
