Preface
The H3C S12500 documentation set includes 14 configuration guides, which describe the software
features for the H3C S12500 Series Routing Switches and guide you through the software configuration
procedures. These configuration guides also provide configuration examples to help you apply software
features to different network scenarios.
The IP Multicast Configuration Guide describes multicast fundamentals and configuration. It covers the
Layer 3 multicast protocols (such as IGMP, MLD, PIM, IPv6 PIM, MSDP, MBGP, and IPv6 MBGP) and the
Layer 2 multicast protocols (such as IGMP snooping, MLD snooping, multicast VLAN, and IPv6 multicast
VLAN).

Braces enclose a set of required syntax choices separated by vertical bars, from which
you select one.

Square brackets enclose a set of optional syntax choices separated by vertical bars, from
which you select one or none.
