In Figure 8.6 the wiring for the second input/output pair is shown as a crossover. The
crossover should only be done with the original version of the Click 500 platform that
does not have the side panel DIP switches. If you have a newer version of the Click
511, then the second input/output pair should not be crossed-over. Simply wire I2+ to
O2+ and I2- to O2-.
Server Mode (blue flashing)
Server mode is the second mode presented in the menu selection process. Server mode
is used at the base station. When in Server mode, the Click 511 will query devices for the
status of their digital inputs.
This mode has two submenus with which you specify the number of inputs to query and the
response timeout for each query. The number of inputs to query is the poll count. The poll
count can be 1 to 8. The response timeout can be 1 to 8 seconds.
