CAUTION
You must make sure that Dedicated Management Port operation is enabled at both
ends of the network for correct operation.

Figure C-2 shows the local and distant-end (remote) networks with Dedicated Management Port operation
enabled. The demodulator on the local M&C network can access the local demodulator M&C without
compromise. It does this by packet mixing from the Ethernet traffic network.

Configuration
By default, Dedicated Management Port operation is disabled. Enable or disable its operation through the
CDD-564A/L CLI interface only.
Parameter changes made for the demodulator or IP settings are not saved until you type S to save them.
CAUTION
Make sure to save changes before you go to a new CLI screen. Type S to save the
changes.
C.3.1 Steps to enable (or disable) Dedicated Management Port operation
1. From the CLI Main Menu, type

to go to the Interface Configuration menu
2. On the Interface Configuration menu, type
E
to go to the Ethernet Configuration menu
3. On the Ethernet Configuration menu, type
D
to set Dedicated Management Port operation. Available choices
depend on the active Working Mode:
a. In Router Mode, type
2
to enable Dedicated Management Port operation
4. Type S to save the change.
