The CDD-564A/L has a Dedicated Management Port function.
Using a single Ethernet port for both demodulator M&C and user data traffic causes many security issues
and difficulties. A Dedicated Management Port mitigates the issues caused by converging two networks
into a single port.
When you use the Dedicated Management Port, the CDD-564A/L uses the demodulator’s onboard 10/100
Ethernet M&C port for M&C access, and uses the IP Packet Processor 10/100 Ethernet Traffic port for
Ethernet traffic data traffic. This separates the M&C and traffic networks, and restricts user access to the
dedicated port for demodulator M&C. See Figure C-1.
The Dedicated Management Port is available in the Router Point-to-Point, Router Point-to-Multipoint and
Vipersat working modes.

these examples, depending on your system configuration and the terminal emulator that you use.
