Telnet and CLI Operation

[Enabled] tells the demodulator to respond to ping requests directed to the demodulator
Ethernet Interface.
o
[Disabled] tells the demodulator not to respond to ping requests. This is a security feature
to prevent unauthorized parties from using the ping command to find out if a device
exists.
Telnet, keystroke: E
• Switches between [Enabled] or [Disabled]:
o
[Enabled] allows access via Telnet.
o
[Disabled] denies access via Telnet.
SNMP, keystroke: N
• Switches between [Enabled] or [Disabled]:
o
[Enabled] tells the demodulator to respond to SNMP requests against the private and
public MIB.
o
[Disabled] tells the demodulator not to respond to SNMP requests against the private and
public MIB.
IGMP, keystroke: I
• Switches between [Enabled] or [Disabled]:
o
The receive portion of a demodulator utilizes the demodulator as an IGMP server.
o
The transmit portion of a demodulator utilizes the demodulator as an IGMP client.
o
The IGMP Information screen configures the demodulator to report an interest to join a
Multicast group on an IGMP server.
o
The IGMP protocol regulates the Multicast traffic on a LAN segment to prevent
information of no interest from consuming bandwidth on the LAN.
Downlink Route All Available Multicast, keystroke: M
• Switches between [Enabled] or [Disabled]:
o
When [Enabled], the demodulator routes all Multicast packets coming from the Satellite
interface to the Ethernet LAN regardless of the Route Table entries.
o
When [Disabled], the demodulator does not automatically forward all Multicast packets.
This demodulator will only forward multicast traffic received from the satellite to the
Ethernet port if the multicast route exists in the Route Table.
Receive 3xDES Decryption, keystroke: none, read-only
• 3xDES is available only in the EN version.
• When Available, the demodulator decrypts packets being received from the Satellite Interface.
• When Unavailable, the demodulator cannot decrypt packets received from the Satellite Interface.
This option is auto-sensed by a bit carried in packet headers.
Rx Header Decompression (Per Demod) , keystroke: H
• Opens the Rx Header Decompression (Per Demodulator) screen.
