Fabricating an ODMR-840 Ethernet Cable
To fabricate a field‐installable Ethernet cable for use with the ODMR‐840 Reduced Form Factor
Outdoor Remote router, use the CN‐0020514 and CN/HED87522‐8002 connectors provided in
kit KT‐0020567.
Refer to Figure 3‐18 and follow these steps:

Peel off the backing from the connector gasket (Item 2.5) and affix the gasket to the
front face of the connector body (Item 2.4). Be sure to align the gasket cutout to the
opening on the connector body.

Thread the RJ‐45 cable (Item 1, provided by user) through the Item 2 components as
shown. Be sure to note the order and orientation of all components prior to final
assembly of the RJ‐45 cordset.

Install the RJ‐45 plug (Item 3) onto the user cable. Be sure to use the proper tooling
when assembling the cordset.

Assemble all components:
• At the front, depress the RJ‐45 plug tab and seat the connector into its mating
socket in the connector body.
• At the back, slip the compression bushing (Item 2.2) into the connector body.
• Screw the end cap (Item 2.1) onto the connector body. DO NOT OVERTIGHTEN.
