1. Introduction

This chapter describes the system requirements of your PC
and the installation of the program.

Purpose of program

The name Vesuv is an abbreviation of "Verification Support
for Validation". Vesuv serves to receive data from analytical
devices (determination data) and to store the data in a data-
base. You may as well save determination methods from
your devices in the PC.

Vesuv supports the GLP guidelines and offers great working
comfort:

Connection of balances to the PC and distribution
of balance data to the connected analytical de-
vices. The balances can be assigned to the de-
vices either manually or automatically, see pages
56 and 57.

Vesuv works autonomously in the background
which doesn't force your lab personnel to learn a
lot about the program.

Extensive password protection.

Monitoring of time intervals for
. the calibration of the analytical devices
. the execution of GLP tests
. the maintenance of the devices
. backup and compressing the database
