Kinetix 5500 Safe Torque-off - Integrated Safety
This chapter introduces you to how the integrated safe torque-off feature meets
the requirements of Performance Level e (PLe), Category 3 according to
EN ISO 13849, and SIL CL3 according to IEC 61508, EN 61800-5-2, and
EN 62061.
With integrated safety, the 1756-L7
xS GuardLogix safety controller issues the
safe torque-off (STO) command over the EtherNet/IP network and the
2198-H
xxx-ERS2 servo drive executes the STO command.
Certification The TÜV Rheinland group has approved the 2198-H
xxx-ERS2 servo drives
with integrated safe torque-off for use in safety-related applications up to PLe,
Category 3 according to EN ISO 13849 and SIL CL3 according to IEC 61508,
EN 61800-5-2, and EN 62061, in which removing the motion producing power
is considered to be the safe state.
