After you have selected the file type you want from the Select File(s) menu,
the File Selections/File Picks pop-up window will open. Listed here you will
see all files in the currently selected directory that match the file type you
have specified. Use the up and down arrow keys to highlight a file name,
then press
[
↵
]
to move the file name to the File Picks column. After you
have moved the names of all the files you want to work with into the File
Picks column, press
[F10].
To select a block of file names, move the cursor to the first name on the
block and press
[CTRL][B]
to mark the beginning of the block. Then move
the cursor to the last file name in the block and press
[
↵
]
. The entire block
will move to the opposite column.
After you have moved the names of all the files you want to work with into
the File Picks column, press
[F10]
to accept your selection. The File
Selections/File Picks Column will disappear, and the Files top level menu
will reappear.
Note that you cannot copy, delete, rename, or convert files unless you have
selected at least one file name through the Select File(s) menu. If a selection
is currently in effect, you will see the small File Picks pop-up window in the
upper left corner of the screen listing the current selections (as shown in
Figure 8.4, for example). The File Picks pop-up will appear only if you have
selected one or more files.
