Capturing Data to USB Drive
Commands
Commands discussed in this section allow you to capture information
from the printer, or to capture the input data the printer receives to a
USB drive for viewing on a PC. This can be useful when
troubleshooting issues.
Only one file on the USB drive can be open at once. Files are placed in
a TRACE subdirectory on the USB drive. A single file can be opened to
capture both messages and data information. If both traces are
opened, be sure to close both. If a file is opened with the same name as
one that already exists on the USB drive, the previous file will be
erased. Files should be closed prior to removing the USB drive, or data
may be lost. The printer will beep on completion of a close trace
command to indicate it is safe to remove USB drive.
