3. Turn off the printer and remove the following items:
❏ Power cord
❏ Interface cables
❏ Loaded paper
❏ Toner cartridge
❏ Developer unit
❏ Installed options

Caution:
Do not remove the photoconductor unit. If you carry the printer without the photoconductor
unit installed, the printer may be damaged.
4. Attach the protective materials onto the printer, then repack the printer in its original box.

Caution:
When moving the printer, always keep it horizontal.
For short distances
Before you move the printer, prepare the location where you are going to place it.

If you are moving the printer on its own, two people should lift and carry the printer.
1. Set the scanner’s carriage to the carriage lock position using the control panel. To do so, press the
Setting button, select Scan Settings, select Default Scan Settings, and then select
Carriage Lock Settings .
