VBI/Ancillary data specifications
Ancillary data is not supported on SD-only models, except as data bridging when 
material is transferred to or from a HD/SD model. Refer to 
material on HD/SD models” on page 134
VBI data support on HD/SD models
Only Luma VBI/Closed-captioning data is saved/encoded. Chroma VBI/
Closed-captioning data is ignored on playback.
Ancillary data support on HD/SD models
Luma ancillary data packets are stored. Chroma ancillary data packets are not 
supported. Both VANC and HANC packets are stored if they are luma packets.
