cropped, and thin black bars fill the
left and right portions of the 16:9
display.

Crop
The picture aspect ratio is
maintained, but the image is
enlarged so that it horizontally fills
the HD display. The top and bottom
of the 4:3 SD image are cropped to
fit in the 16:9 display.

Stretch
The picture aspect ratio is distorted.
The image fills the screen vertically
without cropping, and is stretched
horizontally to fill the 16:9 display.
This conversion up-converts Full
Height Anamorphic (FHA) 16:9
SD material.
