Replace [NAME] with the name of the data source in the Easytext template and [text for air]
with the actual text you want displayed on screen. For example:
To ensure that the external data source file is valid, you can download the data source
schema file available from the SSP-3801 card’s web site on the Channel Configuration >
Data Source page and use it to validate the XML file.
When the Easytext event goes on air, the SSP-3801 card pulls the values from the data
source file every 10 seconds, but will only re-render the text on air when a value has
changed.
To use an external data source file with an Easytext event:
1 Create your data source XML file and validate it.
2 Make the data source XML file available on a web server, SMB, or FTP.
3 Define the data sources locations and order them, see
Configuring the locations for the
external data source files for the channel type
4 Enter credentials for the data source locations as necessary, see
location credentials for the channel type
Showing or hiding the secondary events in the schedule grid
You can choose to show or hide the secondary events in the schedule grid. When the
Secondaries button is enabled, the schedule grid displays the secondary events in rows
alongside their associated primary events. Showing or hiding the secondary events in the
schedule grid has no affect on the actual playout of the events.
To show secondary events in the schedule grid:
1 In the top menu, click Schedule Edit.
2 In the left pane, click the schedule you want to view.
3 Click Secondaries. When the button is blue, the button is enabled and the secondary
events are displayed in the schedule grid.
Resolving issues with the Global ID
The Global ID is an identifier for the asset such as an Ad-ID or an Industry Standardized
Commercial Identifier (ISCI) code. It is usually provided when the media file is registered as
an asset. It can also be added or edited on the Asset Management page. It is used mainly to
reconcile the assets in the schedule with what actually went on air as reported in the As Run
logs.
The event itself may also be designated with a Global ID when the schedule is imported
from the traffic system. Both the Global ID listed for the event (Event Global ID) and the
Global ID listed for the asset (Asset Global ID), if present, are displayed on the Schedule Edit
page.
