Controlling the PM-1600
Automatically or Remotely
The PM-1600 can be remotely controlled by either
➤
a GPIB interface (through a GPIB cable connected to the GPIB port), or
➤
an RS-232 interface (through a serial cable connected to the serial
port).
The commands used in the two protocols are almost the same and are
described in the following pages. When the PM-1600 is being remotely
controlled, the RM marker appears to the right of the display.
Note: If you have already designed a GPIB program to control a high-speed
power meter from EXFO’s IQ Series (IQ-1600), you can reuse certain
sections for the PM-1600.
