Removing and Replacing a Microphone
Note
Make sure to retain all screws, brackets, and other parts during the disassembly.
Step 1
Determine where the microphone connects on either the codec (for a first row center microphone) or the
audio/video extension unit (for all the other microphones). See
for a microphone cabling
diagram.
Step 2
Detach the specific microphone cable from either the Primary codec or the audio/video extension unit.
Note the location of the cables for later reference.
If all microphones are attached to the primary codec, choose the appropriate microphone icon according
to the following conventions:
–
A single dot on a green background indicates a center microphone.
–
Two dots on a white background indicate a left microphone.
–
Three dots on a red background indicate a right microphone.
Step 3
Check the cable on the microphone to be replaced and complete one of the following procedures to
complete the microphone replacement.
•
If the microphone cable is one piece and runs directly from the microphone to the codec or
audio/video extension unit, use the procedure in the
“Replacing a Microphone Without a
Microphone Extension Cable” section on page 12-19
to replace the microphone.
•
If the microphone has a pigtail cord 3 feet (1 meter) long and an extension cable runs between the
microphone and the codec or audio/video extension unit, use the procedure in the
Microphone With a Microphone Extension Cable” section on page 12-20
to replace the microphone.
Replacing a Microphone Without a Microphone Extension Cable
If your system has a microphone cable that runs directly to the codec or audio/video extension unit,
complete the following procedure to replace the microphone.
Step 1
If you are replacing any microphone except for the first row center microphone, skip to
Step 2
If you are replacing the first row center microphone, follow these steps.
a.
Remove the first row center privacy panel.
b.
Loosen, but don’t remove, the mounting screws holding the projector assembly to the underside of
the center tabletop.
c.
Remove the projector assembly by sliding the unit towards the displays.

Note
Your projector might have keyhole slots in the bracket; in this case, slide the projector to the left
to disengage the keyhole slots and remove the projector.
