Releasing Zone Configurations
The flexibility of the PFC-6075R system provides the platform for a variety of releasing applications. This discussion addresses
several releasing configuration examples that may be used for water and chemical agent releasing zones:
• One Count or Single Interlock
• Cross Zone/Two Count (Double Interlock)
• Cross Zone/Two Count with Abort
Releasing Fields
When defining a Releasing zone, the following fields are integral to configuring the zone’s behavior.
Figure 125. Releasing Zone Fields
Tips: Double-click in a field to modify an applicable field, i.e., Pre-Release Pattern or Manual Release Timer. Click in fields
with a selection box to select or deselect the option, i.e., Man-Release Abort Allowed.
The table shown below explains the function of these fields.

Description
Abort Type
Default = None
Defines the manual input type, typically a switch, which stops or delays the extinguishing agent from
being released.
The abort types are:
1. ULI (Underwriters Laboratories Inc.)
- If abort switch is pressed during the pre-discharge time and the time remaining is greater than
(>) 10 seconds, the timer will continue counting down to 10 seconds, and then stops.
- If abort switch is pressed during pre-discharge timer and the time left is less than (<) 10
seconds, the timer will be set to 10 seconds and holds.
- As long as the abort switch is active, the timer will not count down.
- If the switch is released, the pre-discharge time will resume the countdown.
- Abort sequence can be repeated as many times as desired.
- Trouble is generated if the abort switch is pressed when there is no pre-discharge occurring.
2. NYC (Not UL Listed)
- If abort switch is pressed during the pre-discharge time, then 90 seconds is added to the
remaining time. Since manual release time MAX is 30 seconds, and AUTO release time
MAX is 60 seconds, the resulting maximum value is 150 seconds.
- As long as the abort switch is active, the timer will hold at the new value.
- If the switch is released, the pre-discharge time will resume the countdown.
- NYC mode is a one-shot operation, cannot be used more than once.
- Trouble is generated if the abort switch is pressed when there is no pre-discharge occurring.
