About This Book
This document describes configuration commands for FASTPATH® software. The commands
can be accessed from the CLI.
Why the Document was Created
This document was created primarily for system administrators configuring and operating a
system using FASTPATH software. It is intended to provide an understanding of the
configuration options of FASTPATH software.
In addition, software engineers who will be integrating FASTPATH software into their router
or switch product can benefit from a description of the configuration options.
It is assumed that the reader has an understanding of the FASTPATH software base and has
read the appropriate specification for the relevant networking device platform. It is also
assumed that the reader has a basic knowledge of Ethernet and networking concepts.
How to Use This Document
• Chapter 1 “” details the procedure to quickly become acquainted with the FASTPATH
software.

Refer to the release notes for the FASTPATH application level code. The
release notes detail the platform specific functionality of the Switching, Rout-
ing, SNMP, Config, Management, and Bandwidth Provisioning packages. The
suite of features supported by the FASTPATH packages are not available on
