Overview
The GeoSteer system can be installed easily on most agricultural vehicle makes and models. This chapter provides an overview
of the installation procedure and components that may need to be installed on the vehicle. Not every component described in
this manual will be required on each installation. After reading and understanding the overview provided with this manual,
refer to the vehicle-specific instructions provided in the kits for the vehicle-specific installation parts.
Vehicle Inspection
Prior to beginning any installation, be sure to inspect the vehicle to verify it is mechanically sound and it has the required
components installed to complete the installation. If any issues are discovered at this time, have them repaired prior to
beginning the installation. Verify the following:
• All the required factory installed components are installed on the vehicle.
• The vehicle’s steering and hydraulic system are in good working order prior to installing the GeoSteer system. Check for
loose or worn parts. Check the steering system hydraulic hoses and connections to ensure there are no oil leaks.
• Drive the vehicle BEFORE installing the GeoSteer system and confirm that it steers straight and the steering wheel can be
turned from lock to lock.
• For installations with a normal steering axle, verify that the wheels turn smoothly and equally in both to the left and
right directions. Record the time it takes to manually turn the wheels from full left to full right prior to installing the
GeoSteer system.
• For track vehicle installations, verify that the vehicle rotates and steers proportionally the same when turning the
steering wheel the same amount in both directions. Verify that the dead band in the steering wheel is the same for both
directions.
• For articulated vehicle installation, verify that the articulation point articulates the same speed and distance when
turning the steering wheel the same amount in both directions. Record the time it takes to manually turn the wheels from
full left to full right prior to installing the GeoSteer system.
• The vehicle has been thoroughly cleaned.
