Mapping NT and UNIX Users
If you have clients with NT and UNIX accounts, and you select user-level
security, you need to ensure that these clients have the same file access and
security regardless of the environment that they choose to work in.
Similarly, you might want to make either UNIX or NT files available to
clients in other environments. To accomplish this task, you need to create
a mapping between your users and groups. See “Mapping Strategy” on
page 3-14. The following table helps you determine how to go about this
task.

In attempting to match UNIX and NT user
names, the HP NetStorage 6000 consults the
passwd.nis file for UNIX user names and user
IDs and then attempts to match the name with
the NT user name.
