A.9

*OPT? — OPTIONS QUERY

*OPT?

Syntax:

*OPT?
Returns string determined by power supply model.

Description: Causes the power supply to return an ASCII string which defines the functionality of the power

supply. The functionality is defined as follows:

A.10 *RCL — RECALL COMMAND

*RCL

Syntax:

*RCL (1 to 99)

Description: Restores power supply to previously defined levels of output voltage, output current and trig-

gers. This command selects one of the 99 power supply memory locations, each of which stores val-
ues for output current and output voltage. Executing a *RCL recalls the stored settings (see *SAV,
PAR. A.12, for details) from the specified location (whether stored locally or using SCPI commands)
and applies them to the unit.

A.11 *RST — RESET COMMAND

*RST

Syntax:

*RST

Description: Resets power supply to the power on default state. The power supply output set to power-on

default state (see PAR. 3.3.7). The factory settings for power-on default are: output set to off and the
power supply is programmed as follows: CURR[:LEV][:IMM] = 0, VOLT[:LEV][:IMM] = 0,
MODE = VOLT for all load types (except battery where MODE = CURR). A front panel setting and the
load type influence how the unit responds to this command; refer to PAR. 3.5.3.1.3 and Table 3-17 for
details. After sending *RST it is necessary to send OUTPut ON for programmed values to appear at
the output.

A.12 *SAV — SAVE COMMAND

*SAV

Syntax:

*SAV (1 to 99)

Description: Saves the present state of output voltage, output current and trigger values, to the specified

memory location. This command stores the present state of the power supply to one of 99 memory
locations in Flash Memory (see PAR. 3.6.3.7). The following parameters are stored by *SAV:
FUNC:MODE, VOLT:MODE, CURR:MODE, CURR:LIM, VOLT:LIM, VOLT:PROT, and CURR:PROT.
Settings stored are:

Mode of operation (voltage or Current) FUNC:MODE < >

Main channel reference type (internal or external) and setting (if internal)
VOLT:MODE < > or CURR:MODE < >, VOLT < > or CURR < >

Protection channel reference type (internal or external) and setting (if internal)
VOLT:PROT:MODE < > or CURR:PROT:MODE < >, VOLT < > or CURR < >

Output status (on or off) OUTP < >

The stored values can be restored by the *RCL command. See PAR. 3.5.2.2 and Figure 3-16 for spe-
cial programming considerations.

STRING DATA

MEANING

CAL

Support for CALibrate is present.

RL1

Commands sent over GPIB cause unit to enter remote mode.

MEM

Indicates the number of memory steps supported.

LST

Indicates the number of LIST steps supported.
