BeltStati on Setup

The BeltStati on can be confi gured in three ways. It can be confi gured by the BeltStati on menu, wirelessly by the BaseStati on

menu, or using the PC interface called T-Desk. While many functi ons are available through all three methods, certain

features are only available through the BeltStati on.

Confi gure the BeltStati on by the BeltStati on Menu

Using a combinati on of controls and Menu setti ngs, you can set a variety of levels and opti ons directly from the BeltStati on

controls. The multi purpose “CH A ” and “CH B ” controls operate diff erently depending on the mode of the BeltStati on. In

Operati onal Mode, rotati ng the control adjusts the volume of the audio of the local headset connected into the bott om of

the BeltStati on. Turning the Volume control clockwise increases the audio level while turning the control counter clockwise

decreases the level.

Pressing the “CH A” or “CH B” while in “Dual-listen” mode does nothing. In “Single-listen”, pressing the “CH A” controls

enables channel A. Pressing the “CH B” knob enables channel B . The intercom channel selected is indicated by the Channel

Indicator LEDs located on the outer edge of each talk butt on, “TALK A ” and “TALK B .”

In Menu Mode, turning either Volume control allows the user to scroll through the menu opti ons of the current menu

screen. Pressing either control selects the current menu opti on and is the same as pressing ENTER. A menu item is not

selected and will not take aff ect unti l the control, or ENTER, is pressed.

For example, to adjust the Sidetone setti ng:

Connect a headset to the BeltStati on.

Press MENU to enter Menu Mode.

Rotate the Volume knob and scroll to “Set Controls.”

Press ENTER to select, and scroll to “Sidetone.”

Press ENTER to select the “Sidetone” adjustment.

Sidetone is expressed in Decibels (dB). You will see a level indicator with a numeric value between -30dB to -6dB. You should

speak into the headset microphone at a normal speaking level and adjust the sound of your own voice to a comfortable

level by rotati ng either volume knob to adjust the Sidetone level. When sati sfi ed, press ENTER to save the adjustment. Press

MENU to move up one level in the menu tree. Press MENU repeatedly to exit Menu Mode and return to Operati onal Mode.

If no other items are selected, Menu Mode will automati cally exit and return to Operati on Mode aft er a few seconds.

Confi gure the BeltStati on by the BaseStati on Interface

Many of the setti ngs of the BeltStati on can be adjusted wirelessly from the BaseStati on. On the BaseStati on, press MENU,

select BeltStati on Setti ngs, and scroll to the required opti ons. This feature allows the communicati ons engineer to control

many of the BeltStati on’s functi ons without the need to remove the BeltStati on from the user.

As an example, to adjust the

Batt ery Alert on a BeltStati on from the BaseStati on:

On the BaseStati on, press MENU to enter Menu Mode

Rotate the Volume knob to scroll to “BeltStati on Setti ngs” and press ENT.

Select the BeltStati on to be adjusted and press ENT.

Scroll to “Batt ery Alert” and press ENT to select the “Batt ery Alert” adjustment.

You will see opti ons for ON and OFF. Rotate the “Volume” knob to select your preference and press ENTER to select. Confi rm

the selecti on on the BeltStati on display. Press MENU to move up one level in the menu tree. Press MENU repeatedly to exit

Menu Mode and return to Operati onal Mode. If no other items are selected, Menu Mode will automati cally exit aft er one

minute.
