Antenna Confi gurati ons
When att aching the supplied ½ Wave Omni-directi onal Whip antenna directly to the back of the BaseStati on, always ensure
that the antenna is fi rmly seated, is not cross threaded, and is located away from any metal obstructi ons. Keep the antenna
away from walls or other signifi cant structures by at least 24 inches.
Opti on 1
Install the BaseStati on in the center of the area
of communicati on, with antenna installed on
the back of the BaseStati on, having a clear
line of sight in all directi ons.
Opti on 2
Install the BaseStati on in a convenient
locati on and use an opti onal LMR-400, a 50
ohm coax cable up to 25 ft to connect an
opti onal directi onal antenna . (15 ft of LMR-
400 induces about 1 dB of att enuati on.) Note:
Directi onal antennas are subject to legal
restricti ons in some countries.
Opti on 3
Install the BaseStati on in an equipment rack
(1 RU) and use an opti onal LMR-195, a 50
ohm coax up to 10 ft to mount the antenna
above the equipment rack. (5 ft of LMR-195
coax induces about 1 dB of att enuati on.)
