1. Connect a whip antenna onto the back of the BaseStati on.

Select a suitable locati on for the BaseStati on. Tempest is a radio system, broadcasti ng and receiving RF signals that are

aff ected by physical and electronic barriers.

The antenna should be located as high as possible and away from all

obstructi ons. When using a whip (omni-directi onal) antenna , select a

locati on as close as possible to the center of the area you want to cover.

Use alternati ve antenna opti ons when the BaseStati on is in a rack or other

metal structure, or stacked with other gear. Remote locati on antenna

placement of up to 1,500 ft . can be achieved using the Tempest Remote

Transceiver. See the user manual for more details about antenna placement,

recommended cable types, and other antenna opti ons.

2. Connect the power cord and Power On the BaseStati on.

3. Install Batt eries in BeltStati ons

Install the Lithium-Polymer batt ery in each BeltStati on. Be certain that the gold

contacts on the batt ery touch the contacts in the batt ery compartment. The batt ery

is shipped with a parti al charge, so charging will be necessary before maximum run

ti me will be achieved.

OR

Insert (3) AA alkaline batt eries in the batt ery compartment. Always replace the

batt ery cover.

To power ON the BeltStati on, press and hold the power butt on for approximately

two seconds. The display will indicate “None Selected.” Turn the power OFF by

holding the power butt on for four seconds.
