Confi gure the BaseStati on

BaseStati on setti ngs can be confi gured in two ways: from the BaseStati on menu or with the computer interface called “T-Desk” via a LAN
connecti on. While many functi ons are available through both methods, certain features may only be available through the BaseStati on.

Using the Front Panel Controls

The Tempest BaseStati on can be confi gured depending on user preferences and the tasks to be accomplished. The following

instructi ons will help you navigate the front panel and LCD user interface.

See the BaseStati on Menu Structure secti on of this manual for more details of the menu.

The LCD screen is the focal point of the BaseStati on functi onality. While in Operati onal Mode, the LCD displays the status

of all wireless BeltStati ons that are currently logged on to the BaseStati on. In Menu Mode, the LCD shows the menu items

or informati on.

The functi on of the Volume control depends upon the current Mode of the BaseStati on. In Operati onal Mode, turning the

Volume control adjusts the volume of the audio for the local headset. Press the Volume control to select the channel of the

local headset connector.

In Menu Mode, turn the Volume control to scroll through the menu opti ons of the current menu screen. A pointer “>” on

the left of the menu indicates the current opti on. Pressing the Volume control selects the current menu opti on and is the

same as pressing the Enter butt on (ENT). A menu item is not selected and will not take aff ect unti l the Volume control or

the ENT butt on is pressed.

Pressing the MENU butt on while the BaseStati on is in Operati onal mode will cause the BaseStati on to enter Menu Mode.

The main menu screen will be displayed. Once in Menu Mode, pressing the MENU butt on will act as an escape key and will

back out of the current menu screen and move up one level. Pressing the MENU butt on while at the main menu screen will

exit Menu Mode and return to Operati onal Mode.

The ENT butt on on the BaseStati on is only used in Menu Mode. Pressing the ENT butt on selects the current menu opti on

and is the same as pressing the Volume control. A menu item is not selected and will not take aff ect unti l the ENT butt on

or the Volume control is pressed.

The 1 through 5 butt ons below the LCD screen have multi ple uses depending upon the mode of the BaseStati on. In

Operati onal Mode, a BeltStati on that is communicati ng with the BaseStati on will appear in a slot directly above a numbered

butt on. Pressing one of the numbered butt ons will advance directly to the “BeltStati on Setti ngs” menu for that BeltStati on.

In Menu Mode, pressing one of the fi ve numbered butt ons selects the menu item with the corresponding number from

the current list of displayed menu items. This acti on produces the same result as scrolling with the Volume control to the

desired menu item and pressing ENT or the Volume control. To view and select additi onal menu items, rotate the scroll

knob and press ENT to select.
