2. After selecting the correct TCP/IP component, click the Properties button. The TCP/IP Properties dialog
box will appear, showing the TCP/IP address and the Subnet Mask.

Assigning the MS9500GL IP Address and Subnet Mask
Setting the Subnet Mask
To set the Subnet Mask value:
1. Select “Specify an IP address” in the TCP/IP Properties dialog box,
2. Type the appropriate value in the Subnet Mask field.
Setting the IP Address
After setting the Subnet Mask value:
• Type the desired IP address in the IP Address field.
Saving the Subnet Mask and IP Address Values
After setting the Subnet Mask and IP address:
• Click on the “OK” button to save the values.
Note: You must now reboot the layer for the changes to take effect.
Pinging a Device
You can perform a simple test from your control computer to check that the MS9500GL is responding correctly.
To perform the test, you will use a command called “PING” (Packet Internet Groper).
