Chapter 7: Scenes

Chapter 7: Scenes

Scenes are user-defined (preset) screen layouts output by the MS9500GL to the display device.

Scenes are created on a ‘local’ computer running the On Screen Display Designer (OSD Designer) software
available free with the MS9500GL.

The OSD software Interface:

A Scene is produced by the integration of video (MPG), still images (BMP), HTML (Web) pages scrolling
‘Tickers’ (RSS or Text) and other elements. They are defined within .scn files that consist of ‘Regions’ which
contain definitions unique to each type of medium.

A Region is defined by certain parameters which the user can alter to vary the location, appearance and content of
the region. Up to six user-definable Regions are available for incorporating into any Scene.

NOTE: All but the Video ‘Region’ may be defined in multiple instances on the display.

The user may wish to use an existing Scene as a template for a new scene (by copying the scene from the
MS9500GL and editing it on the local computer) or, generating a new scene. The Scene is then transferred to the
MS9500GL.

Refer to the accompanying document ‘On Screen Display Designer (OSD Designer)’ that was provided as
part of the MS9500GL package.
The document explains the Installation and use of the OSD Designer interface
to generate Scenes for loading on the MS9500GL. The OSD application also offers methods for creating Playlists
and Schedules (for content management).

The OSD Designer application is provided on a CD with the MS9500GL for installation on any ‘local’ Windows
based computer
