This section begins with an overview of all the different types of subzones and zones
and how these fit into the overall structure of your video communication network.
It then provides information on the pages that appear under the
Local Zone , Zones
and Alternates sub-menus of the VCS Configuration menu.
These pages allow you to:
configure the VCS’s Local Zon • e (which is made up of subzones, including the
Traversal Subzone and Default Subzone)
create and configure external zone • s to communicate with other systems and
endpoints, including other VCSs, Gatekeepers, Border Controllers or SIP devices,
and endpoints contactable via DNS or ENUM dialing.
create VCS Cluster • s to increase the capacity of your local zone, and for resiliency.
