Creating and using rundowns and segments
Creating a new rundown
To create a new rundown, you must execute the C REATE N EW R UNDOWN action (described
below), which immediately replaces whatever is currently in the upper portion of the
Xbuilder window with a new, empty Rundown/Segment Editor (figure
7-5 ).
To create a new rundown:
1.
Select F ILE >N EW R UNDOWN or press C TRL +R.
The S AVE R UNDOWN dialog box appears (figure 7-4 ).

2. In the N AME field enter a new name for the rundown.
3. Enter your name in the A UTHOR field (optional).
4. Enter a short description of the rundown in the D ESCRIPTION field (optional).
5. Link the rundown to the R UNDOWNS root category or to sub-categories by selecting the
check box for each place where you want the rundown to be accessible from.
6. Click OK to save the rundown and exit the dialog box.
The Rundown Editor and Segment Editor appear and are ready to be populated
(figure
7-5 ).
