Getting started with Xbuilder
Adding and configuring a Preview device
In order to use Xbuilder’s features for previewing the playout ( page 3-11 ) and/or render a
page/scene to file ( page 4-1 ), you must specify which device Xbuilder will use to perform
these tasks. In most cases, a Vertigo Software CG device is used for previewing and
rendering to file in Xbuilder.

The XGS OFTWARE license is required to fully use the preview feature.
To add and connect Xbuilder to a Preview device:
1.
Open the Device Configuration window by selecting T OOLS >D EVICE M ANAGER .
2. In the D EVICE C ONFIGURATION window, select the A DD button:

3. The D EVICE C ONFIGURATION windows expands to reveal two tabs (G ENERAL and A DVANCED )
with settings for identifying the device’s configuration.
