Setting Up IP Addresses
Network Settings
The Kayak HD switcher communicates with other devices over an Ethernet
network. When connecting new devices you may wish to configure their
network settings.
Note If you are experiencing problems with the network settings for your switcher,
please refer to the section on Troubleshooting and Diagnostics
on page 146 .
IP Address
An IP (Internet Protocol) address is a 32-bit number that uniquely identifies
each device sending or receiving information in packets across the Internet.
It is used so that two devices can communicate with each other, as well as
with other devices connected to the same network.
To set the IP address for a device using the Kayak control panel menu:
1. Press the Home button on the control panel.
2. Press Install on the control panel menu. The Install menu displays.
3. Press System . at the bottom of the Install menu. The System menu displays
( Figure 51 ).
