Follow these steps monthly to test the system and ensure that the control panel is functioning

properly:

1

Place water on the cable.

2

Verify the Leak Detected alarm on the control panel.

3

Compare the distance reading on the LD2100 to a reference map (if available) to verify that

the LD2100 displays the correct leak location. See

Chapter 2 on page 13

for more

information about calibrating the leak detection cable.

4

Dry the cable and verify that the LD2100 returns to normal.

5

Remove the End-of-Line terminator (EOL).

6

Verify the Cable Break alarm on the control panel.

7

Reinstall the EOL.

8

Verify that the LD2100 returns to normal.

9

Monitor the cable current monthly to verify that the cable is not being contaminated. The

LD2100 will alarm on cable contamination if the contamination is excessive.

10

From the LD2100 Web interface, verify that the Cable Current is less than 25

μA. If the cable

current is greater than 25

μA, troubleshoot the cables to determine which cable is

contaminated. The contaminated cable should be removed, cleaned, and retested.
