4.2. Connect Distance-Read Panels Through the
Ethernet Port
When using the LD2100 as a Modbus master, the slave unit(s) can be connected to the
LD2100 by using the local network connection, either TCP/IP or UDP/IP, as follows:
Set the TCP/IP, UDP/IP slave address for each leak detection unit with distance-read
controllers that have an Ethernet port as follows:
1 Connect the slave units to the network using the Ethernet ports on the units.
2 Set the TCP/IP, UDP/IP slave address for each distance-read module connected over the
Ethernet by following these guidelines:
♦ Modbus communication uses port #502 for the IP address assigned.
♦ Set the first unit connected to address 2 or higher.
♦ Increase the address for each subsequent unit in numeric order by one (for example, the
next unit would be set to address 3).
