Balancing the
buttonhole
Some
kinds
of
fabrics
will
show
different
density
of
stitches
on
the
right
or
the
leftside
ofthe
buttonhole.
This
is
easily
adjusted
by
turning
the
balance
button
in
the
center
ofthe
stitch
length
dial to balance the density ofthe stitching.
•
If
the
stitches
on
the
right
side
of
the
buttonhole
are
too
open,
turn
the
balance
button
slightly
to
the
right,
until
the
density ofstitches increases (illustration 1).
•
Ifthe
stitches
on
the
left
side
ofthe
buttonhole
are
too
open,
turn
the
balance
button
slightly
to
the
left,
untilthe
density
of
stitches increases (illustration 2).
When
the
buttonholes
are
complete,
turn
the
balance
button
to
this central position and the stitch length dial between 0 and 5.
