Unfortunately, the resistive carbon fuse link can­
not be easily detected with a regular ohm
meter.
An easier and more accurate method would
be to measure the resistance between LINE and
MACHINE terminals (Figure 8-20).
A properly functioning machine should show
a CLOSED circuit between LINE and MACHINE,
regardless of lid position.
