5.
Disconnect the tie rod end from inboard steering
gear using a pair of 1/2” wrenches. See Figure 6.91.
6.
Disconnect the tie rod end from the steering gearbox
using a pair of 1/2” wrenches. See Figure 6.92.
NOTE: There is a spacer between the tie rod end and the
steering rack.
7.
Remove the tie rod from the mower.
8.
Remove the tie rod ends. See Figure 6.93.
NOTE: Count the number of turns to remove the spherical
rod ends.
9.
Install new tie rod ends.
NOTE: Install the tie rod ends the same number of turns
as it took to remove them from the old tie rod.
NOTE: Leave the jam nuts loose.
10. Install the tie rod on the riding mower.
