7. Remove the extension spring that runs from the
brake lever to the brake shaft. See Figure 3.14.
8. Remove the nut and shoulder bolt that attaches the
brake lever to the brake shaft using a 9/16” wrench
and a 3/4” wrench. See Figure 3.15.
9. Remove the clamps (one on each side) that hold the
brake shaft to the frame of the mower. Use a 1/2”
wrench.
10. Install the brake shaft by following the previous steps
in reverse order.
11. Test drive the mower in a safe area before returning it
to service.
