Follow the steps below to remove the bill validator.

Hold the Bill Validator at the top.

Remove the two Phillips head screws on the left side of the Bill Validator
faceplate.
30.
Remove the two Phillips head screws from the bottom of the Bill Validator
faceplate. (Be careful not to yank, tear, or rip out the wires connected to the Bill
Validator).

Once the wires on the left side of the Bill Validator are in view, grasp them at the
connector and disconnect them by gently rocking them back and forth.

The lower housing is the portion of the validator that sits just below the stacker and behind
the bill mouth. The bill mouth is the part of the validator that is used to pull and analyze the
bills that have been inserted. Bills are pulled by a system that draws them up into the main
body. Once they have pulled in, five photo-optic sensors are used to scan them and send the
information to the electronics.
Follow the steps below to remove the bill validator lower housing.

Remove the Bill stacker.
33.
Reach under the bottom of the validator and locate the push tab located in the
back center area. (See Figure 21)

Using your thumb, push the tab up toward the inner part of the housing.
