5.
Use a small flat-bladed screwdriver to loosen
both screws holding the Encapsulated Intrinsic
Safety Module (EISM) in place.
These screws may be left loose in the module.
Do not lose them.
6.
Using proper anti-static (ESD) protection, pull
the Encapsulated Intrinsic Safety Module (EISM)
straight outward.
Set the Encapsulated Intrinsic Safety Module
(EISM) aside on a static-protected mat.
Note the installer’s ESD Wrist Strap.
7.
Note the connector at center right. This is Main
Power Wiring Header P1. A close-up is shown
below.
Pull straight outward to separate from PC card.

The Main Power Wiring Header is turned
around in this view, so the terminals are in
ascending numbered sequence.
Remove all wires except the white and black wires
shown at right. (The wires just removed are the
temporary AC line cord, for factory acceptance testing
and initial customer qualification.)
9.
Remove the temporary AC line cord from the EPCU power unit. This cord is not to be used for
permanent installation.
10.
Install the correct type of conduit fitting, as required by local electrical codes.
For European applications, installation must follow EN 60079-14 requirements.
