Power-up Instructions
These are the instructions provided on the BEBCO panel. Definitions follow, for new users. Note the
Enclosure Pressure Gauge, which is marked with areas “Low,” “Safe” and “High.” In step 5, the user
is instructed to set a safe pressure – this refers to the “Safe” area of the Enclosure Pressure Gauge.
Once a safe pressure is established, a timing sequence for air exchange is initiated. When this
sequence is complete, the XDS Process Analytics Instrument will be powered on.
1.
With Electronic Power Control Unit (EPCU) power
de-energized, RET timer set & BEBCO purging
system air supply on.
2.
Carefully test operation of Enclosure
Protection Vent & seal enclosure.
3.
Energize EPCU power, witness LED self-test, wait for
system warm-up.
4.
Remove key from locked position in Rapid Exchange
Control valve stem. (See close-up photo.)
5.
Open Enclosure Pressure Control Valve
Slowly to set a safe pressure.
6.
Return key to Rapid Exchange Control Valve
Stem & lock firmly in place.
7.
Rapid Exchange Solenoid Valve will automatically
engage within 10 seconds.
8.
When Rapid Exchange pressure & flow are detected,
RET Timer will start.
9.
Rapid Exchange Solenoid Valve will disengage upon
RET Timer completion.
10.
EPCU will automatically energize enclosure power
upon RET timer completion.
11.
EPCU will automatically de-energize enclosure
power upon loss of safe pressure.
This shows the positions for the key used in steps 4, 5, and 6 above. The upper position is used to set
enclosure pressure. The lower position is the locking position described in step 6.
A Sequencing Diagram with LED operation is shown in the following pages, continuing through to
system Fault Conditions.
