NOTE: Large supply lines are recommended to permit adequate airflow. Some loss will occur due to
internal friction. Use ½-inch to 1-inch (12mm to 25mm) supply lines.

Terminology

SCFM:

The term SCFM stands for Standard Cubic Feet per Minute, referenced to a pre- specified pressure,
temperature, and relative humidity. In most cases, SCFM is referenced to 14.7 PSIA, 68°F, and 0%
relative humidity. By specifying these parameters, the mass flow of compressed air and gas systems is
clearly defined. NOTE: Be sure that SCFM is correctly converted to Actual CFM. The equivalent
information applies to Metric flow rates also.

PSI:

Pounds per square inch. PSIA refers to “absolute pressure.”
Conversion factor:1 PSI = 0.07031 kg/sq. cm

FPT:

Female Pipe Thread (US), NPT tapered thread. The Metric types are either PG (European Standard) or
BSPT (British Standard Pipe Taper). Adapters of the correct thread type must be used where required,
or the seal will not be maintained. Teflon® tape must be used on the threads for a good seal.

I/O Connection:

UTP Crossover Cable, Category 5, RJ-45 connection

Scan Range:

The Data Collection Method (DCM) selection ranges are as follows:

Extended InGaAs detector: 800-2100 nm. (Performance Test range 850-2100 nm.)

Silicon detectorr: 400-1100 nm.

The test ranges used in Performance Test are somewhat narrowed due to detector and fiber
attenuation parameters.
